The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.
Carl Rogers
Do you feel like you’ve lost your sense of direction, or that you’re struggling with challenges preventing you from traveling the path you want to take in life? Whether you find yourself facing difficulties in school, at work, home, or in your social life, I am here to help you find your way. I believe that a strong, relational connection between a client and their therapist is the foundation upon which healing and growth is built. My approach to our therapeutic relationship is one of seeing you with unconditional positive regard, nonjudgement, empathy, and through demonstrating genuineness and authenticity. I strive to create a supportive space that will foster your sense of trust and safety with me as we identify and explore the barriers in your path – and work together in overcoming them. I promote self-discovery and the development of a sense of confidence and empowerment. I feel this is foundational in your ability to achieve lasting, positive change, and use several therapeutic modalities including Motivational Interviewing, Solutions-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as well as addressing any addictions or substance use concerns.
I offer both in-person and virtual therapy services to adults (ages 18+) in individual sessions at our 520 University Avenue location.

Gaming
Playing video games can be a fun and relaxing pastime, but perhaps you have been finding your passion for gaming taking over your life. Are you noticing that you are staying up for a midnight Tuesday game release and then skipping class or underperforming at work the next day? Or perhaps you find yourself getting lost for hours farming materials for a weapon or armor upgrade, or grinding to unlock the next skill tree ability, to the disappointment or frustration of those in your life who would rather you spend time with them. Are you spending money on in-game purchases and then feeling guilty afterwards, possibly even preventing you from paying a bill or affording other necessities? As a gamer myself, I want to help you find a healthy balance where gaming can be a hobby that doesn’t cause negative impacts in your life.
Shopping
You’ve had a rough day, but you know what will make you feel better – getting that thing that’s been sitting in your online shopping cart for the last few days, or taking a quick trip to the mall to buy something. You know you can’t really afford it right now, but you just can’t help it – the browsing, selecting, and purchasing process makes you feel excited and uplifted… that is, until the guilt, shame, and financial worries set in after. If you feel like you’re stuck in a cycle of using shopping to relieve negative thoughts and feelings, but then finding shopping being a cause of them, I want to aid you in gaining skills to manage stress in healthy ways and for you to gain a stronger sense of control over your spending.
